Economist’s top three things incoming Treasurer Jaclyn Symes must prioritise

Jaclyn Symes has been announced to replace Tim Pallas as Victorian treasurer, which is set to be a tough job with the financial state Victoria is in at the moment.

Independent economist Saul Eslake joined 3AW Drive to talk about what the incoming treasurer should prioritise in her new role.

“Sooner or later, the new treasurer is going to have to accept and explain to the Victorian people that they cant go on running cash deficits,” Mr Eslake said.
