Eastern Freeway tragedy: Trucking boss manslaughter charges dropped
Manslaughter charges against the manager of a trucking company over the Eastern Freeway tragedy, where four police officers were killed, have been dropped.
Police had alleged Simiona Tuteru should never have allowed his employee Mohinder Singh to get behind the wheel on the day of the crash because of his fatigue.
The 50-year-old Connect Logistics boss encouraged Mr Singh to do just one more trip before the fatal accident in 2020.
This morning, prosecutors told Supreme Court Justice Lex Lasry the case would not proceed.
No explanation was given.
