Drone-hunting sea eagles being trained by police, could soon be unleashed in Victoria

Victoria Police could soon unleash drone-hunting sea eagles to help protect the public from the threat of terrorism.

Sly Of The Underworld revealed on 3AW Breakfast that a trial in the Netherlands had been successful.

The birds are trained to catch and grab drones believed to pose a threat to the public and drop them in a “safe” zone.

“I’m telling you that Victoria Police is monitoring the program,” Sly told Ross and John.

“I believe that within a few years we’ll see them flying above the MCG on grand final day.”
