Dr Andrew Leigh explains Labor’s negative gearing restrictions

Has this MP spilled the beans on the full extent of Labor’s negative gearing plan?

Shadow Assistant Treasurer Dr Andrew Leigh told Tom Elliott on Monday its proposed restrictions would apply to all assets, not just property.

But it’s since been revealed Dr Leigh may have been ‘speaking out of school.’

Canberra Correspondent Michael Pachi said on 3AW Drive that came as news to some members of the press gallery.

Interestingly, a transcript of Dr Leigh’s interview hadn’t arrived to media inboxes as normal.

‘From what it seems, neither Shadow Treasurer Chris Bowen or Bill Shorten has outlined that policy,’ he said.

Dr Leigh’s office has since re-confirmed the Labor politicians comments.
