Doyle family’s fear after dangerous, cowardly attacks

Melbourne Lord Mayor Robert Doyle and his family could be driven out of their home after a second attack on his family home this year.
Neil Mitchell also revealed Mr Doyle’s wife and young child have been targeted in an “offensive” and “dangerous” social media smear.
Vandals threw paint bombs at his South Melbourne home in the early hours of yesterday morning.

In February, rowdy groups of protesters demonstrated outside the property over the homelessness crisis in Melbourne.
And yesterday a vicious and anonymous anti-capitalism Facebook page attacked Mr Doyle’s wife, Emma, and son.
“We presume our contribution will result in an increase of your property value, which, after your sad demise your child-bride and tender-aged offspring will capitalise upon,” the Insurrection rant read.
Police are investigating and Mr Doyle is confident he knows who the group is.
Nonetheless, he today told Neil Mitchell he is considering the need to move.
“You don’t like to back down to the cowardly attacks but … that’s something I’ll talk with Emma about,” he said.
