Donald Trump fronts New York court to fight criminal charges

Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty in a New York court to more than 30 criminal charges against him.

The investigation on the former United States president stemmed from an alleged hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign. Mr Trump has been accused of falsifying business records, claims he denies.

Pulitzer-prize winning journalist David Cay Johnston has been covering Mr Trump critically for more than 30 years and told 3AW Breakfast there was a “very high” chance of the former president ending up in prison.
