‘Doesn’t owe us’: Richmond great weighs in on bombshell Dustin Martin news

Richmond great Matthew Richardson believes Dustin Martin owes his former club nothing as he weighs up whether to play on in 2025.

Martin had announced his retirement at the Tigers, but has since reached out to Gold Coast about the possibility of playing again next year under old coach Damien Hardwick.

“Dustin Martin has given everything to the Richmond Football Club,” Richo said on 3AW Football.

“You only get to play footy once and if he’s gone away and thought ‘I’m not enjoying the Melbourne environment’…if he thinks he can get motivated and get back to a level to play good football, then good luck to him.

“He doesn’t owe us anymore.”
