Heidi Murphy admits she’s uncomfortable with the Shrine being used to host dining events.

The upcoming ‘Dine at the Shrine’ will be held in March as part of the state’s Food and Wine Festival, promising a $185 per head dining experience at the sacred site.

“This does not sit comfortably with me,” Heidi said on 3AW Drive.

Deputy Opposition Leader Sam Groth said he was mystified why a five-year deal with the catering company to hold the event had been signed.

“The Shrine is a sacred site,” he said.

“I’m not sure we should be commercialising a venue like that.”
