A confusing speed limit change in Frankston has left a 19-year old apprentice mechanic without his license and job.

The speed limit at the intersection of Davey Street and the Nepean Highway dropped from 60km/h to 40km/h but signage was confusing and left thousands with speeding fines, which Victoria Police has since withdrawn.

19-year old caller Riley spoke to Neil Mitchell on his frustrating experience that saw him lose three demerit points unfairly.

“I felt defeated but I understand where they’re coming from,” Riley said in regards to losing his job as a mechanic due to losing his license.
