‘Distressed’ Strathmore dad takes aim at school after private information leaked online
The father of a Strathmore Secondary College student says the kids are shattered by the leaking of the sensitive personal records of 300 students.
Details on the records, presented as a spreadsheet, include whether students suffer impairments such as comprehension difficulties, or conditions such as Autism, ADHD and behavioural issues.
Human error has been blamed for the leak.
The Education Department has launched an investigation.
One father, Greg, told Neil Mitchell the school had also let down parents and children in the aftermath.
“The school made no contact to any parent or anything regarding this,” he said.
“I found out about it from my child, who showed me the list on Monday.”
He said the incident was “very distressing” and its impacts were hard to stop.
“I’m very distressed,” he said.
“You can’t control 1600 kids who are bantering about this at this school.”
