Denis Walter chats to Tania McCartney, author of Australia: Illustrated

Tania McCartney’s book Australia: Illustrated may be a picture book, but it’s not just for the young ones.

The book is a playful encyclopaedia of the best parts of Australia from bush tucker to great Australian slang. 

And it was fitting for the author to appear on 3AW Afternoons with Denis Walter on Australia Day.

‘I wrote this for childre, roughly (aged) 3-8 years-old,’ she told Denis Walter.

‘All picture books are as much for adults as they are for kids. They are magnificent fun.’
