Denis gives New York’s Big Gay Ice Cream guys the Golden Gaytime test

As the old commercial goes, you can’t have a Golden Gaytime on your own. 

Denis Walter got to meet two of New York’s sweetest ice cream makers when the founders of Big Gay Ice Cream popped in to the 3AW studio. 

In town for Melbourne’s Good Food month, Bryan Petroff and Douglas Quint got their big break after they started a humble ice cream truck six years ago. 

It was a huge hit on the streets of New York, and they now have an ice cream shop in the big Apple and Philedelphia. 

Their recipes are adventurous and exciting, offering a new twist on the traditional soft-serve ice creams. 

Chocolate ice cream and caramelised bacon anyone? Pumpkin butter and maple syrup perhaps?

During their interview with Denis, the ice cream experts taste-tested one of Australia’s favourites, the Golden Gaytime, on air.
