Demographer puts forward question to federal government over ‘rapid growth’ of immigration
Demographer and social researcher Claire Madden has forward a question to the federal government over the “rapid growth” of immigration in the country.
Australia’s population has surged by a record 563,200 in the past 12 months to 26.5 million, growing by almost 2,000 people per day.
Tom Elliott admitted he was “shocked” by the recent figures by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, and Ms Madden says it’s putting “pressure” on our cities.
