Defiant Victorian MP refuses to bow to ‘deeply concerning’ mandate
One of the three Victorian MPs who is set to be banned from parliament for refusing to get vaccinated or produce evidence they have been says the state should be “deeply concerned” by what’s happening.
Liberal Democrats MP David Limbrick, who has twice declared publicly he is vaccinated against COVID-19, is refusing to hand over his inoculation status.
He says he shouldn’t have to.
And while he will be able to continue his role representing the South East, he won’t be able to vote on laws without being present in the chambers of parliament.
Mr Limbrick said that was troubling, given the State of Emergency legislation is up for renewal.
“They are effectively removing the votes of people who will likely oppose this legislation, one of the most critical pieces of legislation in our history,” he told Tom Elliott.
“This is deeply undemocratic and I think all Victorians should be deeply concerned about this.”
