Deakin Uni hacked: Details of almost 50,000 past and present students stolen

RUMOUR CONFIRMED

Deakin University has fallen victim to a major cyber attack.

As revealed on the Rumour File, the details of around 47,000 past and present students were stolen in an IT breach on July 10.

Hackers have used the information to send a scam SMS to almost 10,000 students, which looked like it had been sent from Deakin University.
