Vendors at the Queen Victoria Market have noticed an increase in shoppers as supermarkets face price-gouging accusations, and their alleged practices with suppliers.

Big Vic Deli owner, Kon Kardaras, says statistics released by the market’s management shows a substantial increase from this time last year.

“[Shoppers] are looking for a little more engagement, and also the knowledge of buying a product that is locally and sustainably [for suppliers],” he told Tony Jones, filling in for Jacqui Felgate.
