Darts to be an Olympic sport?

Australia could be set for a boost in its Olympics medal tally if Darts is introduced to the Games.

Andrew Coburn, President of Darts Victoria is confident the sport will be a part of the Olympics in future.

“We’re of the belief that it’s going to happen,” he told 3AW Breakfast.

“We’ve been recognised as a sport in Victoria, so the next move is to go onto the world stage.”

If it does happen, based on recent results at the Asia Pacific Cup last year, Australia will be successful in the sport.

“Our Darts Australia team that went to the Asia Pacific Cup last year won everything. Team event, doubles, singles,” he said.

When asked if Darts does classify as a sport, Coburn explained it as ‘the most accurate sport in the world’.
