Daniel Andrews denies allegation he made a degrading comment about opposition MP

Daniel Andrews has told Neil Mitchell claims from inside his own party of a derogatory remark towards a female MP are false and defamatory.

Mr Andrews is alleged to have made the comment in relation to the member’s bowel cancer, in 2014, when he was Opposition Leader.

But the Premier has vehemently denied making the claim, telling Neil it is ‘defamatory, disgusting, and wrong’ to suggest he did.

Neil Mitchell also revealed 3AW Mornings was threatened with legal action if the story was pursued.

‘They said he will sue. They said he will never appear on the program again,’ he explained.

‘Well so be it.’
