Some Residents and business owners in the Dandenong Ranges are still without power, four days after wild storms lashed Melbourne causing chaos.

The Kallista Deli & Cafe in the Dandenong Ranges had been preparing for a bumper Cup weekend, but has lost phone reception and is now without power.

Owner Richard Harrop told Tony Jones it’s a “bit of a disaster”.

“Here we are, prepared thousands and thousands of dollars worth of stock to trade all weekend, and now we’re closed,” he said.

“That stock will be going in the bin, I’ve got two staff in my business at the moment, working in the dark, going through the fridges and bits and pieces throwing stock out.”

The cafe was also significantly affected by the storms in June.

“We just get open a week and a half ago … AusNet closed us on the Sunday because there had been some works, and now we’re closed again,” he said.

“Every time we open, we just keep getting kicked.”
