Cyclist mowed down in disturbing Brighton road rage incident

A cyclist has been mowed down in an apparent road rage incident at Brighton.

Alex Schneider told Neil Mitchell he was riding with a friend on New Street at about 7.20am last Friday when a man in a grey older model Ford Falcon hurled abuse at him.

The driver took off before doing a U-turn and returning and knocking Alex off his bike.

“We don’t know what upset him,” the cyclist said.

“There were absolutely no cars around, there were no oncoming cars … we were nowhere near the actual car lane.”

Alex received cuts and bruises, but miraculously wasn’t seriously injured.

The disturbing incident has been reported to police.
