Cricket great facing charges relating to alleged match-fixing
Cricket great Sanath Jayasuriya has been charged with two counts of breaching the International Cricket Council’s anti-corruption code.
The news has rocked Sri Lanka.
Jayasuriya, one of the country’s greatest ever players, has been accused of “failing to co-operate” with an ongoing investigation into alleged match-fixing.
He’s also been charged with “concealing, tampering with or destroying any documentation or other information that may be relevant”.
It’s believed the investigation relates to Jayasuriya’s time as chairman of selectors.
