Cricket boss James Sutherland confident in pink ball in Adelaide Test
The head of Cricket Australia is confident the pink ball and the day-night test match in Adelaide will be a success.
CEO James Sutherland told Sports Today he had always been a proponent of the changes.
‘It’s the right place, the right time and the right conditions, and Adelaide is certainly a great place for a day/night match,’ he said.
He said Australian cricket had spent time experimenting with a variety of balls to see how they adapted to our conditions.
‘[Kookaburra] have done a huge amount of work in developing the pink ball for this Test match.’
Philip Hughes will be commemorated during the Test, Sutherland said, one year to the day since he tragically died.
‘We’ll never forget the little champ,’ he said.
