COVID-19 latest: Victoria’s locally transmitted case figure surges
The number of community-transmitted COVID-19 cases in Victoria has grown markedly.
In the 24 hours to midnight last night there were 12 new local cases of coronavirus detected.
One of the cases in today’s figures was reported yesterday.
A mammoth 40,411 test results were received yesterday.
Acting Premier James Merlino, Minister for Health Martin Foley and Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton will provide a COVID-19 update at 11am.
Reported yesterday: 12 new local cases and no new cases acquired overseas.
