Corrections Victoria investigates why prison employees called in sick

Corrections Victoria has confirmed reports an unusually high number of staff called in sick at Melbourne Assessment Prison on Thursday.

But it says there will be little impact on operational procedures.

Additional staff have been called into cover those absent.

3AW has been told as many as 50 employees have called in sick.
