Conor McKenna’s latest COVID-19 test has come back negative.
The AFL was thrown into chaos on Saturday when it was emerged McKenna had returned a positive result.
Essendon’s clash with Melbourne was postponed.
McKenna has since been tested again and that came back negative.
All other Essendon players have also since been tested and all tested negative to COVID-19.
Nonetheless, fringe forward James Stewart has been forced to isolate after he was determined to be a close contact of McKenna.
“The club will work with relevant medical experts over the coming days to further understand these results,” Essendon said in a statement.
A date for Essendon’s clash with Melbourne has not been determined but the Dons’ Round 4 match against Carlton will go ahead.
