There are fears a private dam on Mickleham Road may burst, with a rain bomb hitting the city.

Chris Miller from the Department of Transport told Neil Mitchell that Mickleham Road was now closed between Craigieburn and Greenvale as a result.

“The concern is that the bank will actually burst and obviously, if that gives way, huge amounts of water will come out,” he said.

Rosaperry told Neil Mitchell she lived directly opposite the dam, on Cookes Road.

“I’ve been here over 45 years – I’ve never seen anything like it and I just don’t feel safe, even in my own home,” she said.
