‘Completely wrong’: The statement from the opposition which Clare O’Neil disagrees with

Federal Housing Minister Clare O’Neil has shut down claims from the opposition that no homes have been built under the current Labor government.
O’Neil told Jacqui Felgate the statement is “just completely wrong”, and claimed almost half a million homes have been built around the country since the current Labor government came into power.

“What I would say is that we are on track to build 55,000 social and affordable homes over five years,” O’Neil said.
The federal housing minister was also questioned on negative gearing and whether high immigration has led to the housing crisis in Australia.
“Our government has come to the helm three years ago to find a housing horror show,” she said.
