Community rally organised to protest Flemington flood wall

Maribyrnong residents were hit hard with the floods a couple of weeks ago, with a protest set to occur against the Flemington flood wall, with residents arguing it made the flood worse and impacted surrounding houses.

Luca Fitzgerald, organiser of the Tear down Flemington flood wall community rally, was impacted by the floods and wants action taken.

“Over 240 houses were flooded and people have really stressful and traumatic memories of it,” Mr Fitzgerald told Tom Elliott.

“I think it kind of represents a bit of a story of what we’re prioritising in our communities and society at large.”
