Commonwealth Games ticketing blunder
If you’re heading to the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, it might be worth checking your ticket twice.
An estimated 14,000 tickets have been issued with the wrong date printed on them.
The Games begin on Wednesday April 4, but the first batch of tickets have been printed saying the ceremony is on Thursday April 4.
“They’ll be people from all parts of the Commonwealth who won’t know what day to turn up!” Ross said.
Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation chief executive Mark Peters told Fairfax media in Brisbane, the incorrect ticket printing was due to “human error” and the tickets
would not be reprinted due to the security information on them and was confident spectators would turn up on the right day.
Hmmm – perhaps Ross could have worked on a new series of The Games for Gold Coast … the 4th of April is a Wednesday. But don’t worry, only 14k were sent out! pic.twitter.com/Gg4GUwdT71
