Collingwood could be set to welcome back forward Dan McStay sooner than first expected, in what would represent a huge boost for their premiership defence.

The 29-year-old ruptured his ACL in a November pre-season training season, with Sam McClure reporting McStay could play in the senior team within a fortnight.

When asked about McStay, Steele Sidebottom said on Wide World of Sports he was leaving a huge impression at training.

“He’s dominating out there (at training) at the moment,” Sidebottom said.

“He had some match sim out there today, he’s absolutely in peak condition.”
