City Of Yarra to fly flag on “Hiroshima Day”
The “gift that keeps on giving” – the City Of Yarra – has passed a motion to fly a flag on Hiroshima day.
But Tom Elliott wants to know why council is spending time on such matters.
The council will fly the flag on August 6, the anniversary of when the Japanese city was bombed by America.
“I’m sure the world would be a better place without nuclear weapons, but since when did it become the role of a single council in inner-Melbourne to start advocating for the abolition of nuclear weapons?” Tom Elliott asked.
“Australia doesn’t even have them.”
