City of Melbourne slammed for ‘grandstand theatrics’ ahead of tonight’s ceasefire motion
A member of Melbourne’s Jewish community has labelled the City of Melbourne’s latest motion as “grandstand theatrics” as the council meets tonight to call for a ceasefire.
Sharon says the council needs to understand the motion is decisive and has opposition.
“They might think they’re appeasing or pleasing a loud minority, a majority of people are not for this, we don’t want a terrorist organisation and we don’t want to to see our city taking sides,” she told Tom Elliott.

Victorian Police have confirmed in a statement they’ll have a “visible” presence tonight.
