Chris Uhlmann had addressed his tense exchange with China’s ambassador to Australia at the National Press Club.

Xiao Qian’s performance at the event has prompted Liberal Senator Jim Molan to push for him to be banned from speaking there again, saying it was used to spread lies and misinformation.

“I don’t agree with Jim Molan about the fact we shouldn’t have him there,” Uhlmann told Neil Mitchell.

“I think it’s revealing when we have him there.

“I think it was wholly bad for the Chinese Communist Party in the way he responded to all of those questions.”
