Channel 9 reporter surprised with emotional family airport reunion live on-air

This was just lovely.

Today Show reporter Christine Ahern, a familiar voice to 3AW listeners, was surprised with a family reunion while reporting on Monday morning.

Her family, who she hadn’t seen in more than a year due to COVID-19, is based in Queensland.

Ahern knew her sister’s family would be at the airport, but not her mother and father.

“It was just the best surprise ever,” she told Tony Jones, who is filling in for Neil Mitchell.
