Champion Magpie responds to being caught by Buddy on the all-time goal-kicking list

Legendary Magpie Peter McKenna is about to be bumped down the all-time goal-kicking list.

McKenna is currently ninth on the list with 874 goals, but he was joined by Lance Franklin on Saturday night and will be relegated to 10th with Buddy’s next goal.

Not that the Magpie champion is holding any grudges.

“It’s much harder for forwards to kick big bags of goals today,” he told 3AW Football on Sunday.

McKenna said parts of Franklin’s game remind him of another great forward, Bernie Quinlan.
