Central and western Victoria most at risk of bushfire this summer

Article image for Central and western Victoria most at risk of bushfire this summer

Victoria is still recovering from recent floods, but they’re already being warned about the dangers of this summer’s fire season.

Central and Western Victoria will be most at risk, despite recent rain and cool conditions.

The wet weather has reduced the number of planned burns during the Spring, with the rain also helping strong grass growth.

Emergency Management Commissioner Craig Lapsey was on hand with the state government to launch fire action week on Monday.

Victorians are encouraged to begin preparing their homes now.
