CCTV footage released as police hunt for man involved in Ballarat sexual assaults

Police believe the same man is responsible for two sexual assaults in Ballarat yesterday afternoon.

In the first incident, a woman was walking along Sturt Street at about 3.40pm when a man approached her from behind, sexually assaulted her and then fled along Town Hall Lane.

About 10 minutes later, a woman was sexually assaulted near the toilets of a nearby shopping centre on Armstrong Street.

Investigators believe the same man is responsible.

Police have released CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to.
