Liberal MP details ‘appalling’ attack on Jewish community following Caulfield firebombing
Liberal MP for Caulfield David Southwick has slammed the protestors who launched an “appalling” attack on the Melbourne Jewish community after the firebombing of a burger restaurant last November.
The owner of the shop Burgertory who is a pro-Palestinian activist claimed it was a hate crime, but police said that was not the motivation as two men were arrested yesterday in relation to the incident.
“It’s probably the worst night the Melbourne Jewish community has ever had to endure,” Mr Southwick told Tom Elliott.

“It was a line in the sand moment that never should’ve happened, and those people should be held accountable and responsible and quite frankly should apologise for their actions.”
“You cannot jump to conclusions and point the finger at somebody without having the facts, it is clearly inciting hate.”
