Caroline Wilson’s theory on why so many Giants players are leaving
Caroline Wilson says Greater Western Sydney are playing the long game after letting a host of players leave during this year’s trade period.
Tom Scully is the latest name to leave, after Will Setterfield moved to Carlton and both Rory Lobb and Dylan Shiel eye moves to Fremantle and Essendon respectively before the deadline at 8:30pm on Wednesday night.
“It’s unfortunate that (Scully has left), it’s a salary cap dump,” he said.
“This is all about keeping Lachie Whitfield, Josh Kelly and Nick Haynes.
“There’s still so many good players at the club.”
