Caroline Wilson believes the independent panel investigating racism allegations at Hawthorn need to go through “a proper process” to get to the bottom of it all.

It comes after both Alastair Clarkson and Chris Fagan were both allowed to return to their coaching roles after stepping away to assist with the allegations.

“I really think it needs to be a proper process, otherwise Alastair’s name has been rightly or wrongly besmirched forever really, and I can see lawyers getting involved,” Wilson told 3AW’s Wide World of Sports tonight.

“I certainly believe they’ll continue to coach now the independent panel’s been put together.”
