When the machine produced the victim’s money, the man pounced.
He grabbed the money from behind the woman and ran away.
Police have released CCTV of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.
He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, about 177cm tall with a thin build, aged in his 20s to 30s, black hair and a beard and moustache.
He was wearing a black t-shirt, pink shorts, a black cap and sunglasses.
7 News reporter Jodi Lee told Nick McCallum it was a callous attack
“A very brazen attack,” Jodi said.
“She was taking out quite a large sum of money, about $1000.
“She was only here on holidays, presumably just to spend Christmas with family and friends, she’s now gone back to WA.”
