Calls to get behind the RSL’s Remembrance Day poppy appeal early

Brendan Dover lost his left leg in Afghanistan in 2010.

The Lance Bombardier also lost much of the use of his hand when he stepped on an improvised explosive device in the middle of winter.

Mr Dover told Denis Walter his story in the 3AW studio on Tuesday.

With Remembrance Day coming up, the RSL’s poppy appeal is under way.

However, the public is being encouraged to get behind it early this year, because the more people wearing poppies now, the more will be sold ahead of November 11.
