Calls for new tax to support Australia’s ‘underfunded’ aged care system

There are calls for a new tax to fund Australia’s embattled aged care system.

Finance columnist Alan Kohler said it was “obvious” the system was underfunded.

He’s calling for a national insurance scheme.

“It would ensure aged care is funded in the way it needs to be,” Mr Kohler said.
