Callers flood the 3AW talkback line as wild weather causes havoc across Melbourne

Several callers have taken to the 3AW talkback line as wild weather sweeps across the city this afternoon.

A severe thunderstorm warning for damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall has been issued for the Melbourne area, with Caulfield, Elsternwick, Sandringham and Cheltenham the worst affected suburbs at the moment.

“Absolutely treacherous conditions out there,” Chris Miller from the Department of Transport said on 3AW Drive.
