A cafe owner in Blackburn North claims he was berated by a council worker over a couple of signs advertising the location of the cafe.

Ben Williamson from Battle Cafe in Diana Drive Blackburn North says he was yesterday told he’d need a permit for the signs despite them being being out on the road for a few years.

“We’ve had these street signs, they look like real estate auction signs, we have had them out there on Junction Road in Blackburn North for 4.5 years now,” he told Tony Jones, filling in on 3AW Mornings.

“This is the first time they have ever said anything.”
