Business groups say casual workers will be “double dipping” after they were granted five days paid sick leave by the Victorian government.

And there are fears those workers will simply view the new entitlement as five days paid leave.

Tim Piper from the Australian Industry Group told Ross and Russel employers again had to “cop it in the neck” while struggling to run a profitable business.

“It will cause people to really question whether they want to employ casuals,” he said on 3AW Breakfast.

Mr Piper said pay loading already covered the lack of sick leave entitlement.

“We think it’s double dipping,” he said.
