Bulldog puts medical career on hold to join AFL Women’s league
Bulldog Tiarna Ernst has put her medical career on hold to join the AFL Women’s league.
Dr Ernst is a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology but has gone part-time to join the new competition.
She told Neil Mitchell it’s a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity.
‘I’m only young once,’ she said.
Player pay in AFL Women’s has come under fire, and Dr Ernst admitted she may have to eat into her savings to pursue her dream.
But it’s an improvement on previous years when women had to pay up just to get on the field.
