Brisbane Lions set to receive a priority pick in the AFL 2016 draft
The Brisbane Lions are set to receive a priority pick after round one of the 2016 national draft.
The decision, made by the AFL commission, gives the Lions picks two, nineteen, twenty-one and twenty-eight in the first two rounds.
3AW’s Shane McInnes spoke with Lions CEO Greg Swann who says he’s happy with today’s result.
‘I think the AFL have probably landed on 19 because it allows other clubs to have their picks with no interference.’
‘Our preference is elite talent, it doesn’t matter if it’s 18, 22 or 26. Pick two is a very valuable pick.’ – Swann told Sports Today.
He says – ‘The fun begins on monday, so we’ll see where we end up.’
