St Kilda coach Brett Ratten says controversial Collingwood star Jordan De Goey is one of “many” players the Saints will consider making a play for at the end of the season.

Ratten joined 3AW in studio on Wednesday.

The Saints have been aggressive with their off-season moves in recent years and have again been linked to a handful of out-of-contract names.

De Goey is one of them.

“I think he’s a real talent, there is no doubt about it and everybody can see that, but there is more to just picking a player than just talent, so we have to work through that,” Ratten said.

“Whether it’s Jordan De Goey, or (Karl) Amon, or Tim Taranto – all of these players that are out, we look at, you have to.

“He (De Goey) is one of many players we are talking about.”

He was also asked about reports Lance Franklin could be available at the end of the season due to contract talks with Sydney hitting a wall.
