Border residents slam ‘ridiculous’ border barrier between Queensland and NSW

Australians living on the NSW-Queensland border say it’s “ridiculous” a barrier has been set up to prevent people from crossing over.

Alicia Alcock told Tom Elliott it made little sense, given the area was hundreds of kilometres away from Sydney.

Images of families meeting at the barrier on Father’s Day went viral on Sunday.

“It’s really heartbreaking,” she said.
